PREPARING "ADD US TO YOUR ADDRESS BOOK" LINKS

vCard is a file format standard for electronic business cards. vCards are often included with e-mail messages, but can be exchanged in other ways, such as on the World Wide Web or instant messaging. They can contain name and address information, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, URLs, logos, photographs, and audio clips. IntelliClick allows you to create vCards which can be referenced in your email templates to help encourage your recipients to add your to their address book. This improves your message deliverabilty by overcoming restrictions that impact getting to the recipient inbox or how images are displayed.

You may create as many vCard files as you wish. Each of these will be uploaded to a dedicated folder for your IntelliClick account and the link you create with the IntelliClick Wizard will reference the specified file within your email message. When the recipient clicks on this link, they will be prompted to download the file to have it added to their default email client (i.e. Outlook, Gmail, etc.).

Here are the steps to enable use of vCard (.vcf) files with IntelliClick:

1. PREPARE VCARD INFORMATION - set vCard information for each of the people in your organization that you may want to include a link in future email templates; this information can be updated at any time and new ones added by accessing the PREPARE ADD TO ADDRESS BOOK information found on the main menu under the Campaign Tracking module area of the wizard

There is limited required information to prepare a vCard; the more you provide, the more complete the information that will be added to your recipient address book.

2. GENERATE VCARD LINK - as you create an Express or Advanced hyperlink, there is an option to Insert ADD TO ADDRESS BOOK link; when selected, it will display the various VCards you prepared in Step #1; Choose the desired VCard information to be used

3. INSERT VCARD LINK INTO EMAIL TEMPLATE - add wording to your email template such as "Add Us To Your Address Book" and then hyperlink this text with the link generated to the clipboard by the IntelliClick Wizard; For Express links, this is generated and added to the footer of the email automatically

When your email recipients click on the link within the email, they will be prompted to download and save the VCF file; When they open the file, they can load this using whichever address book they wish to add the contact information; Below is an example of this for Outlook:
