Product Delay Notification - Bristol Compressors - August 8, 2018
- Product: All products utilizing Bristol Compressors.
W60AA- all voltages,
W60LA- all voltages,
W60AAD all voltages,
W60AAP all voltages,
W60LAP all voltages,
W60AAE all voltages,
W60AAM all voltages
(5 Ton 10 EER heat pumps are not affected, as they utilize an Emerson Compressor)
- K36A2-N & K36L2-N Models
On July 31st, Bristol Compressor announced that they would be closing their doors. On August 3rd, we were very surprised to learn that the closing would happen much more quickly than expected and that all current orders would be cancelled. While we have been given an opportunity, albeit somewhat untenable, to place a last-time “buy-request”, there is no commitment being made from Bristol that they will fulfil any more orders. Bristol will review our buy request and compare our needs to their current materials inventory and the materials that their vendors might still be willing to send to them. When they notify us of availability, they will also notify us of an adjusted price.
We’ve place an extensive “last buy” order with Bristol for the compressors they provide us. Due to the uncertainty of Bristol’s imminent response, we will only be accepting orders for W60AA and W60LA products on a case-by-case basis until we receive a more firm delivery schedule from Bristol. If Bristol is not able to fulfil our order, we will be forced to move the W60AA W60LA planned obsolescence date of May 1st up to something more in the immediate future. In the meantime, please be prepared for longer than normal lead-times on 10 EER 5 ton units until the time when we receive a reply from Bristol on our pending last buy-request.
