Redesign COMX 100CA-RE

Reason for change 
  • The semiconductor shortage caused a bottleneck of the step-down DC/DC converter FAN2001MPX from OnSemi / Fairchild.

Description of change
  • FAN2001MPX will be replaced by LM3691TL-1.5/NOPB
  • The new revision 9 of COMX 100CA-RE module integrates an alternative step-down DC/DC converter from Texas Instruments to ensure the delivery availability.
  • In future, both hardware revision (revision 8 and revision 9) will co-exist at the same time. Depending on the availability of the DC/DC converter mentioned above, the COMX 100CA-RE will be delivered with hardware revision 8 or hardware revision 9.

Software components remain as they are.

  • The change does not affect the overall function of the product.

November 2022

Compatibility / Substitution

Mounting, pinning, interfaces are unchanged between both revisions.

Software is unchanged.

Revision 8 and Revision 9 of the above-mentioned product are completely compatible.
