New MasterFormat Division 10 'Specialties' - 10 74 49

In 2018 the Construction Specifiers Institute (CSI) added a new MasterFormat Division designation within Division 10 'Specialties', referred to as 10 74 49.  This designates "Modular Landings and Ramp Systems" as a recognized product solution for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

• Why is 10 74 49 important for you?
  It's important because it provides flexible and cost-effective solutions  that consultants and inspectors can recommend to architects, designers, contractors, and facility owners when assessing ADA compliance for entryways and access points in new and existing commercial and residential facilities.

• How does it apply to existing facilities?
  For existing facilities, any alterations or renovations should comply with new construction standards to the maximum extent feasible.  Retrofit products like modular landings and ramp systems are most often considered the optimal solution when compared to concrete, metal, or wood alternatives.

• What about new construction?
