That All new MOT Roller Brake Testers are now required to be connected to the DVSA!
From 1 October 2019, purchasing a new roller brake tester or making a New Application will need to make sure it's a model that can connect to the DVSA. This includes buying one as a replacement for a broken one or as part of opening a new garage.
This update is being done to modernise testing in MOT stations, in order to save time and reduce the risk of error and fraud.
The DVSA are also working with manufacturers to develop other types of connectable equipment. These include: diesel smoke meters, exhaust gas analysers, decelerometers & headlamp aligners When approved, these will also be required when replacements are needed.
